Martin Fuller – Fullers Family Law

The business was doing ok, without any doubt but we had hit a glass ceiling. I couldn’t find a way of getting through that. I think I was working in the business more. I wasn’t focusing on the business which was part of the glass ceiling, the focus was wrong.

I think the first thing we did was starting to get performance indicators up and running so we could see what was working and wasn’t working and needed improving and focusing on one thing at a time.

What I would say is you still need to do the work, it’s just helping you get the strategy and tactics to make it work, you go implement it and come back and it’s not always going to work but then you look at what didn’t work and you repeat until you get it right.

Turnover has increased 3 fold, profitability has gone up proportionately. Work/life balance is a lot better now. I tend to work on the business now, so although I am always thinking about the business, it’s more relaxing than before.
